Pulse Stick Welding

Fronius delivers once again with the Ignis 180XT, a must-have for SMAW welders. The innovative stick pulse feature makes challenging welds easier by allowing the puddle to solidify faster. This enables vertical up welding without the need for weaving and provides smooth handling of thin materials. The adjustable Hz setting for pulsed stick ensures seamless rod burning for superior results.

Anti-Stick

We've all dealt with the frustration of a welding rod that's stuck, risking overheating or arcing. The Ignis 180XT solves this with its Anti-Stick feature. If a short circuit occurs, the arc automatically extinguishes, leaving the rod just slightly adhered to the workpiece. Simply unclamp the stinger, bend the electrode, and it will snap off effortlessly for a quick re-ignition.

HotStart and SoftStart

The HotStart and SoftStart features give you complete control over arc ignition by temporarily adjusting amperage. For example, with a 6010 electrode, you can start the arc at 130% of the set amperage for 0.7 seconds before it stabilizes at the desired level.

• HotStart: Ensures precise ignition, especially with cellulose and rutile rods, by delivering a clean DC current surge. This allows for an ideal molten weld pool on cold workpieces and minimizes electrode sticking. HotStart also excels during arc re-ignition, particularly on overlaps, creating a clean, uniform finish.
• SoftStart: on the other hand, offers a soft, stable arc for electrodes igniting at lower currents, making it ideal for basic electrode welding. The Ignis 180XT momentarily lowers the preset DC current during arc ignition, providing smoother starts.

Dynamic Continuously Adjustable (DCA)

The DCA system in the Ignis 180XT dynamically combines arc force, arc control, and dig. Upon detecting a short circuit, the system delivers a surge of DC current to maintain a smooth, clean weld pool. This provides precise control over the Stick electrode’s penetration into the joint, ensuring arc stability and minimizing sticking.

Tracking-Arc

The Ignis 180XT features a sophisticated re-ignition system that’s a game-changer for SMAW welders. When re-igniting the electrode, it maintains a steady 8-amp arc, creating a "flashlight" effect that makes positioning the end of the previous weld precise and easy. This results in seamless overlaps and a smooth, consistent finish.

Integrated Gas Solenoid - IGS

The Integrated Gas Solenoid (IGS) is a premium, built-in solenoid that automatically manages the torch gas flow when the arc is ignited. There's no need to manually open the gas valve on the torch. Simply start the arc, and IGS activates the preset pre-flow. Once the arc is extinguished, it smoothly transitions to the preset post-flow, automatically shutting off the gas when the process is complete. This enhances TIG torch operation by optimizing gas usage and ensuring flawless welds every time.

Advanced TIG Pulsing System

The Advanced TIG Pulsing system improves weld puddle control, making it especially effective for out-of-position welding. With a pulse frequency range from 0.5Hz to 100Hz, it provides precise heat management, ideal for stainless steel and thin materials. This feature is a valuable asset, particularly for less experienced TIG welders, helping them achieve better results with greater ease.

TIG Tacking Function

Lift Arc Ignition System

By gently lifting the tungsten electrode from the workpiece before ignition, this system minimizes direct contact, significantly reducing the chances of tungsten contamination or fouling. The result is a cleaner start with less risk of defects, allowing for better arc stability and improved weld quality right from the beginning of the process. TIG Comfort Stop

The Ignis 180 XT TIG Comfort Stop provides a smooth and precise solution for arc termination. While the Lift Start system ensures a clean arc ignition, ending the arc can sometimes leave burn-in marks on the workpiece. The TIG Comfort Stop feature eliminates this issue by automatically managing the arc's termination. After completing a weld, simply lift the torch, and the system activates. It monitors the arc length and, once it reaches a preset value, it precisely terminates the arc to prevent any unwanted dragging or damage to the workpiece. This ensures a flawless finish with no harm to your project.

TIG Torch Trigger 

The Fronius TIG TTG 2200A FS Torch is a unique and versatile tool designed for optimal precision and control. It features two separate triggers, allowing for precise adjustments of amperage and arc settings. With both 2T-Step and 4T-Step modes, you can effortlessly modify your settings during operation. The torch is equipped with Fronius' quick-connect TIG multi-connector, which locks securely with a simple push-and-twist action, ensuring the connector contacts are protected by its innovative design. Additionally, it is fully compatible with existing U/D Torches, offering seamless integration with your current setup.
