Fronius TransSteel 2200 Multi-Process Welder
Ready-2-Weld Package!
The TransSteel 2200 is a versatile, all-in-one solution, combining MMA, MIG/MAG, and TIG welding in a single, compact unit. As Fronius' first single-phase inverter power source with multi-process capabilities, it offers exceptional flexibility. Designed with intelligence, simplicity, and durability in mind, the TransSteel 2200 ensures ease of use, robust performance, and reliable results. Weighing just 15.5 kg, it stands out as one of the lightest machines available, making it both portable and efficient.

While its ability to weld aluminum is remarkable, it's the exceptional weld performance with mild and stainless steel that truly earned it recognition and awards in its release year. Packed with more advanced features than you can imagine, the Fronius TransSteel 2200C Multi-Process welder is an essential tool for any serious welder.
Synergic MIG Controls
Experience the precision of European welding engineering with Fronius Synergic MIG. With synergic MIG, simply input your material type, thickness, wire, and gas, and the machine will automatically select the perfect parameters for optimal weld performance. As you fine-tune your settings, the system keeps all other parameters in sync, ensuring smoother arcs, reduced spatter, and cleaner welds. After testing similar features on other brands, we can confidently say that Fronius outperforms the competition.

- Synergic MIG keeps parameters in sync for optimal performance.
- Leverages the expertise of European weld engineers for top-tier results.
- Calibrates to real-world conditions and adjusts automatically.
- Quick and easy adjustments with a simple knob.
What sets Fronius Synergic MIG apart is its ability to calibrate the ideal parameters to real-world conditions. In calibration mode, simply remove the MIG nozzle, touch and hold the contact tip to the work surface, and the system will measure the voltage drop from the wall to the contact tip, adjusting settings accordingly. The machine also continuously monitors arc length and wire resistance, making automatic adjustments as needed.
The TransSteel 2200C's Synergic welding mode allows for seamless, single-parameter operation. A simple twist of the knob locks in your settings, making adjustments fast and easy.

ALUMINUM WELDING!
Fronius has mastered the art of achieving professional aluminum MIG welds without the need for a spool gun or push-pull system. With specialized synergic MIG settings for 4043 and 5356 aluminum, the TransSteel 2200C comes equipped with drive rolls, a liner, and specific contact tips, all designed to provide an extraordinary aluminum welding experience.

The unique Fronius TransSteel S4T (Special 4-Step) mode offers a custom trigger lock sequence tailored specifically for aluminum MIG welding. Simply push and hold the trigger to create a puddle at the start, release the trigger and move the torch along the weld path, and then press and hold again to engage crater fill at the end. Every step is fully adjustable to fine-tune your settings. This mode gives you total control, pre-heating the material and initiating the cleaning process before the weld, while ramping down amperage during crater fill for a strong, clean finish.
Additionally, the TransSteel 2200C features two separate spindles—one for 8" spools and one for 4" spools—so you can seamlessly switch between a 1-pound spool of aluminum and a 2-pound spool of stainless without the need for an adapter or spool gun.
- No spool gun required
- No feeding issues
- Special trigger sequencing for aluminum welding
- Engineered synergic settings ensure top-quality welds
- Use 1-pound spools without the need for an adapter
Advanced TIG Features:
Advanced TIG Pulsing System:
Allows better control of the weld puddle, especially for out-of-position welds. Adjustable pulse frequency from 1 to 990Hz for optimal heat control. Ideal for stainless steel applications and thin-walled materials. A valuable tool for both novice and experienced TIG welders.
TIG Tacking Function:
Simplifies fit-up and prep work by enabling precise tacking without filler material. Sends a controlled sequence of pulsing current to join workpieces without blowing through or creating a keyhole.
TIG TTG 2200A FS Torch W/ Built in Amperage Control:
Standard with the TransSteel 2200C, this torch features two distinct triggers: one for arc start/stop, and one for amperage control. Provides on-the-fly adjustments with 2T-Step and 4T-Step modes. Easy quick-connect multi-connector system with a simple push-and-twist locking mechanism, compatible with existing U/D torches.
Lift Arc Start Ignition System:
Offers a cleaner, more effective arc ignition. Reduces the risk of fouling the tungsten by minimizing contact with the workpiece.
TIG Comfort Stop:
Smooth arc termination to prevent burn-in marks when finishing a weld. Automatically engages when the torch is lifted off the workpiece, terminating the arc at a set length to prevent dragging and damage.
Progressive Stick SMAW/MMA Features:
The TransSteel 2200C Multi-Process welder is designed with features that enhance every process, including stick welding. Whether you're tackling a small job or a big one, the Fronius TransSteel 2200C is an invaluable tool for any welder.
Anti-Stick:
Automatically extinguishes the arc if a short circuit is detected, preventing the rod from sticking to the workpiece. Simply unclamp the stinger, grab the electrode, and bend it back to snap it off with ease, ready for re-ignition.
Hot Start:
Optimizes electrode ignition by delivering a momentary surge of clean DC current for a perfect weld pool on cold workpieces. Reduces the likelihood of electrode sticking, especially when re-striking an arc on a joining weld or overlap. Ideal for electrodes like cellulose and rutile rods.
Soft Start:
Provides a stable, soft arc ignition for low-current electrodes that require gentle starting. The inverter system momentarily lowers welding DC current during ignition to produce a smooth, fluid weld puddle.
Dynamic Continuously Adjustable (DCA):
The DCA feature in the Fronius TransSteel 2200C combines arc force, arc control, and dig into one advanced dynamic system. When the machine detects a short circuit, it delivers a spike of DC current to maintain a smooth, consistent, and clean weld pool. This allows you to adjust the Stick electrode's operation, providing more or less penetration into the weld joint. The ability to fine-tune the DCA significantly enhances arc stability and reduces the likelihood of electrode sticking.
With these features, the TransSteel 2200C ensures a smooth, efficient, and stress-free stick welding experience every time.
